7 – 12 June Way of the Water, A healing retreat in Tomar
In March 2025 we organized our fourth ‘New Templar’ retreat in Tomar. It turned out to be a powerful initiation of the Sword. Physically integrating this initiation, we are now urged to bring a group together to work with the Mystery of the Grail. So our next retreat will be about the power and the Way of Water. Water is life, water is consciousness, water is where creation starts. It brings healing, gentleness, connection and wisdom. In our five days together we will explore the many ways water can purify and heal us, but also how water is a conductor of creation and how we can cleanse the water in ourselves and in the environment. With its connection to the ocean, Portugal is a real water country, and also Tomar is connected to water, with the river Nabão running through the center of town, and the old bridge, the Arab waterwheel and several watersystems which are quite unique. It was also the place from which the Templar knights developed their overseas voyages of discovery. So lots to discover together…

WHERE: The workshop will take place at The Gate, our space in Rua dr. Joaquim Jacinto 113, Tomar, at the foot of the old Templar hill.
LODGING: We ask you to book your own lodging (Bed & Breakfast) in the old city center of Tomar. We will share a list of nice places to stay close to The Gate. We advice everyone to book a hotel inside the old town, all is at a walkable distance there and it makes you part of the ‘community life’. There is also a simple but free parking spot for campers in the town center.
WHEN: June 7 – 12, 2025
Starting 7/6, at 6 pm (18:00), meeting at The Gate
Ending 12/6 at 1 pm (13:00), after the closing circle, before lunch
WHO: Facilitators are Ton van der Kroon & Anne Wislez
HOW: We will be initiating you into the world of the Templars knights (f/m/x) and the Warriors of the Heart, and we will also be working with the principles of Open Space, creating part of the program together on the spot. Read more about it.
COSTS: € 550 (including: the costs of the workshop, 4 x lunch, 5 x dinner, and a visit to the Templar Castle & the Convento de Cristo / excluding: your journey towards Tomar, accommodation costs, breakfast, drinks and other excursions + transport decided on the spot).
PARTICIPATION: You can only participate for the whole event. All retreats start at 6 pm (18:00) with dinner and the opening ceremony on the first night, and end at 1 pm (13:00) on the last day with a closing ceremony right before lunch time.
BRING WITH YOU: Easy clothing (in layers, Tomar can be warm and sunny, but occasionally windy and rainy before summer), yoga clothing, swimming suit, light rain coat, sandals, light walking shoes, thick socks or slippers for in The Gate, notebook, instruments if you have them, a personal symbol to put on the altar…

NB. In case of cancellation, there is a fee of € 200 two weeks before the start of the event. After that the whole amount has to be paid. Hotel cancellations should be checked with the hotel itself. Your registration to the retreat will only be confirmed once the payment is received.
HOW TO GET IN TOMAR: Tomar can be easily reached by plane to Lisbon and a direct 2 hour train drive to Tomar. You can walk from the trainstation to The Gate and hotels inside the old town in 10 minutes.
