So here we are, on the road again. When the heart calls, you just have to follow its beat, despite the many doubts that might want to hold you back. Ton, my partner, and me have a quite unusual profession: we follow the inner call and move to places, whatever they are, only to discover step by step what wants to be revealed.
We have been wanting to go to Israel for months now. A dear friend of ours, Meitalev, is suffering from bonemarrow cancer and since two years her process is closely linked to ours. We long to be with her and surround her physically in her healing process, but covid19 closed the Israeli borders and had us stay put in our own countries, Belgium and Holland.
Feeling into our friend, we suddenly heard the call of the Sinai desert, Saint Catharine’s Monastery and the Moses mountain. The vision made us understand that Sinai is the beginning of a route that will finally take us to Schiehallion, Scotland’s holy mountain, at the end of this year. The beginning and the end, these are the only pieces of the puzzle we have so far. The only thing we know is that we are driven by a deep love for the earth and for mankind; that we long to contribute to the re-validation and further development of the human inside us, and that we truly believe that some of the key answers for the problems we find ourselves faced with in these challenging times, can be found through an inner quest, deep within.
We do not have these answers yet. We can only discover them along the road that is being shown to us. Noticing the hints and signposts along the way, trying to grasp what they want to tell us, and gradually connecting the insights into a larger context, a broader story. Connecting the dots. Connecting information. Connecting places. Connecting people. Connecting souls. So that many can journey along, physically or in spirit.
On this website Ton and me will report on this journey. Both in our own proper way, let’s say from a masculine point of view and a feminine point of view. Although by times Ton might reveal a much stronger surrender to the feminine aspect of life, whilst I embody more masculine aspects – there is never a clear cut gender division in the way we approach life. Being used to rather independent pathways, we alsof see this journey as a wonderful opportunity to connect the masculine and the feminine in us into a communal path. An interconnected answer. Might be a joyful ride, might be a clash from time to time, like we see many extremes clashing around the world. It is no coincidence that our star signs Aquarius and Taurus find themselves in a challenging opposition this year. It takes something to connect air with the earth – and ideas and visions with manifestation and every day life ;-). But we hope to find a way to bridge that contradiction and discover a third path together, one that can transcend polarities. Because that third path might hold an important key for the future. Or so we feel.
We’ll see.
It took me a while to surrender to the call. Can I leave, while so many people find themselves in lockdown? Can we take another flight, while we are driven by a deep love for the earth? And yet I feel these times do not only need solidarity, but also loyalty to one’s own task. ‘Rebels, do your thing’, is the message we read on a billboard while nearing the airport. We take it as the first hint on the road. And so, off we go.

DAAR GAAN WE WEER
Hier zijn we dan. On the road again. Als het hart roept, dan roept het. Alle bedenkingen en angsten ten spijt. We hebben nu eenmaal een vreemd beroep. We volgen de innerlijke call, om telkens ter plekke te begrijpen welk verhaal zich daar wil reveleren. We kunnen het op voorhand niet bedenken, maar ineens is het voelbaar. Zoals een paar weken geleden, toen we ineens beseften: we moeten naar de Sinai-woestijn. Naar het Catharina-klooster. Het is het begin van een traject dat ons in de late herfst zal brengen tot de Schiehallion, de heilige berg van Schotland. Zover weten we. En dat onze drijfveer een diepe liefde is voor de aarde en de mensheid; voor het hervalideren en verder ontwikkelen van het humane in ons; en voor het zoeken naar oplossingen voor deze vreemde tijden, diep in ons eigen zijn. Maar verder kunnen we het parcours alleen maar ontdekken; de hints en wegwijzers onderweg opmerken, proberen te vatten wat ze ons willen zeggen, en gaandeweg de inzichten verbinden tot een groter geheel. Connecting the dots.
Connecting the dots is ook de naam van onze nieuwe website, van Ton en mij, waarin we dit traject zullen verslaan. En waarin we op onze eigen onvoorspelbare manier het mannelijke met het vrouwelijke willen verbinden. Zoekend, aftastend. Misschien wordt het millimeterwerk. Misschien zullen we af en toe toe clashen, zoals de tegengestelden in de hele wereld met elkaar in de clinch gaan tegenwoordig. Niet toevallig staan dit jaar onze sterrentekens Waterman en Stier in een interessante uitwisseling. Het vraagt wat om lucht en aarde met elkaar te verbinden. 😉 Maar onze hoop is om die tegenstelling te mogen overbruggen en samen een derde weg te vinden die polariteiten kan overstijgen. Omdat er in die derde weg – naar ons gevoel – een belangrijk antwoord zou kunnen zitten voor de toekomst. We’ll see.
Vertrekken in tijden van corona roept in mij weerstand op. Je wil solidair zijn met iedereen die thuis blijft. En toch vraagt deze tijd ook loyauteit aan jezelf. Rebels, do your thing, lezen we op een groot uithangbord op weg naar Schiphol. We ontvangen het dan maar als het eerste signaal. A mark on the road.
