Everything evolves so quickly that we can hardly keep up. What offers certainty today may no longer do so tomorrow. An unexpected event (illness, divorce, job loss, conflict, natural disaster, world events…) can turn your life upside down. Or perhaps you are intuitively called to let go of something you have clung to for a long time and embrace the new and unknown. Even if you have no clue  what that may be.\n\n\n\n\n\nNew paths are unfamiliar, and the unknown breeds fear, resistance, and stress. It takes courage to step over that threshold and enter an uncertain future. Every river shivers before it throws itself into the ocean. But together, we can handle that step much better. 🙂\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat do the events in your life want to tell you?How do you know which direction to take?What can you believe, and who can you trust?How do you find the necessary support within yourself?\n\n\n\n\n\nIn other words: how do we deal with the crises in our lives and in the world in a calm and conscious way? How do we ensure we stay focused, grounded, warm-hearted, and connected, without bypassing the emotions that arise?\n\n\n\n\n\nBy slowing down, creating space, meditating, sharing, moving, and exploring… we discover what lives within us. We develop a new part of ourselves and set it in motion. We discover the direction our life wants to take, the resistance holding us back, and how to deal with the unknown. Or we accept the total “not-knowing”—the chrysalis phase we are in—and discover how fruitful this (empty) period can be. We connect with each other and the living web, feeling joy, hope, and purpose in these challenging times.\n\n\n\nYet, expect the unexpected… This is a week ‘in the unknown’, so life might invite us to something else entirely. We primarily open ourselves to ‘what wants to happen’. 🙂\n\n\n\nBy ‘living together’ in the historic center of Tomar, the capital of the Knights Templar, we also discover the ancient mystical tradition that has kept this city alive through the centuries. It is simultaneously an invitation to discover the “sacred masculine” within ourselves, alongside the mystical feminine.\nYou are very welcome to join us!\n\n\n\nPRACTICAL INFORMATION\n\nWHERE: Our workshop space The Gate, Rua Dr. Joaquim Jacinto 113, Tomar, Portugal. This location is easily accessible on foot from the train station and any hotel in the city center.\n\nACCOMMODATION: With this formula, you book your own accommodation (bed & breakfast) in a hotel, guesthouse, or alojamento local of your choice nearby. Once you register, I will send you a list of recommended addresses, and you can find a wide range of options via booking.com. There is also a (simple) free parking area for campers in the city (which is still closed at the moment due to the storm, but will hopefully re-open soon). We recommend booking within the old center; everything is within walking distance, allowing you to experience the “village feel” of the city. 🙂\n\nWHEN: From October 6 to 11, 2026. We gather on the first evening at 6:00 PM at our workshop space, The Gate, just before dinner for an initial introductory circle. We wrap up on the final day around 1:00 PM, after a final circle before lunch. Participation is only possible for the full retreat.\n\nHOW: I combine teachings and guided exercises with sharing circles and the principles of Open Space, allowing room for the truly new to emerge.\n\nPRICE: €600. This includes the workshop, 4x lunch, 5x dinner, and a visit to the castle and the Convent of Christ.Not included: Your travel to Tomar, accommodation and breakfast, and any additional excursions we decide on-site (including associated transport).\n\nLANGUAGE: The workshop is in English, unless all participants speak Dutch.\n\nPREPARATION: It is not a must, but it is enriching to read my book beforehand: A Feminine Answer to Crisis (in English), or: Into the Unknown, Sprong in het onbekende (in Dutch).
